this auction is for 2 vintage or antique fishing rods. The first is a St. Croix 6'9" model 0901 rod made in USA. It says"recomended lure weights 1/4-1/2 oz. It is yellow with a cork handle and seems to be made of fiberglass. The other rod is a a Zebco 40 Anniversary Commemorative Edition rod. It is model 3340. Appears this rod was shortened for some reason. It is a 2 piece rod. The assembly slides are in very good condition, comes apart like it just came from the store. 3 eyelets. All on the tip end of the rod, none on the handle end. The cork handle is in good condition. There was some masking tape on it, so there is some glue residue. Up for your consideration is a vintage bamboo 5 piece fly fishing rod with canvass and weaved case. It appears this pole can be used either as a 6' or 9' rod. Two pieces form a 6' rod while three pieces make a 9 footer. There is a extra third section for the 9 footer. I can't find a brand name as the original finish has worn off. Other than that the poles look to be in very nice shape. Extra tread is wrapped around the tip eye on the 6' section. All the eyes are intact. The canvass case is pretty worn. RARE VINTAGE HEDDON PAL SUPERLATIVE BASS 6.5' FISHING FLY ROD

According to a past listing I saw. This is a bass fly fishing rod. I really don't know much about such things, but I will describe it as well as possible. Feel free to ask questions if I have missed any pertinent details.This vintage item belonged to my late Dad- found it when we were clearing out his house 10 years ago. It measures 6-1/2' when the 2 parts are put together. It is probably fiberglass, going by other descriptions of this type of rod from the 1950's-early 60's. The handle is cork. It has a red plastic end cap attached by a screw. There is a metal casing on the handle with 2 moveable metal rings to attach a reel. It has a small triangular metal loop attached just above the handle, and 5 ferrules attached by thread wrapping- all secure and perfect. Near the handle, in script writing, it says: Heddon Pal Superlative#1170-7-L" ... moreThere is a tan cloth bag with brown piping that the rod goes in before putting it in the tubular case. It has a seam sewn down the middle, making a section for each part of the rod. The case is all metal, with a screw-on cap. The cap is pretty dented up, but it still works well. There is more denting, mostly on 1 side at the other end of the case. There is a well-worn"Heddon" sticker on the top end side. Check out my! Rod is in very nice condition missing a little string but eyes are original. Intact and very firm. Cannot see any original lettering other than raised JC Higgins in handle. Handle is very nice with original reel lock.
